Ulcers

A diet rich in zinc, beta carotene and vitamin C may promote the healing of peptic ulcers.  Essential fatty acids found in fish and seed oils are thought to increase the production of
prostaglandins, which protect the lining of the alimentary canal. Liquorice root has been shown to protect against ulcers caused by the harmful effects of aspirin and other drugs on the stomach lining, but anyone with high blood pressure should not use it unless advised by a doctor.

"End ulcers with cabbage"

Yes another one of those headline grabbers trying to sell me yet another book full of "cures".  Cabbage contains, in addition to numerous vitamins, a substance called S-Methylmethionine which is thought to heal gastric ulcers and relieve pain.  The remedy requires drinking a litre of raw cabbage juice a day for at least 8 days.  A word of warning though.  The juice can if used for too long cause anaemia, because it will inhibit iron absorption. Cabbage can also cause flatulence.

Urinary Tract Infections

I bet you have all heard of this natural remedy...cranberry juice.  It contains a substance that stops bacteria clinging to the cells lining the urinary tract and the bladder.  Blueberry has a similar effect.
